Dear Valued Customers,

In light of recent events and the unforeseen changes in the global film industry, a lot of the new product that was due for release in the coming weeks and months has now been withheld from release, to be released later in 2020 or 2021. For us, this means business a little different than usual for the next few weeks or months, with limited sessions. We will be updating you as soon as possible and making arrangements for any pre-booked event tickets already purchased. All of our event screenings in the future have been cancelled as a precaution. As the situation unfolds, we may have to continue adjusting to circumstances with reduced opening times or possibly even temporary closure. We hope it doesn't come to that however. If it were the case, we will notify you as soon as possible on our website, with an email and on our Facebook page.

Please understand that we are taking the global pandemic seriously, closely monitoring the information provided by the Australian Department of Health and the World Health Organisation and are using this information to take precautions to assure the safety of both our customers and our staff. Be assured, that we are following the advice of all Government updates and restrictions seriously and we will advise our customers immediately should anything change. We wanted to share with you the extra steps we've been taking to help flatten the curve of the number of people affected by COVID19 since we became aware of the severity of the situation:

  • HYGIENE - We have already increased our already high hygiene standards that we strive to achieve, not only in our Candy Bar, but in our cinemas and of our staff. All staff have been retrained in safe hand washing procedures. All of our staff are regularly washing their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds every time, and know to refrain from touching their faces. Staff are cleaning and sanitising all high-touch areas at a high frequency, including handrails, doors, point of sale equipment, counter tops, etc. The centre‚Äôs contract cleaners are also ramping up their efforts to sanitise high touch points during their foyer and bathroom cleaning. We take great pride in upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene at our cinemas.
  • CAPACITY - With the Australian Federal Government restrictions on non-essential indoor gatherings of people in mind, with any further restrictions, as well as the safety and comfort of our customers, we have reduced the capacity of our cinemas, which brings us well below the Government guidelines, allowing ample space for our customers to maintain social distancing. While we do not have allocated seating, we are asking our customers to use their own judgement on where they feel comfortable, allowing at least four empty seats and two empty rows of seats between them and other customers.
  • STAFF - We are asking employees to not come to work if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms, have recently returned from a higher risk country, or have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
  • CASHLESS PAYMENTS - We are encouraging the use of card payments wherever possible to limit the handling of cash for both our customers and employees.
  • CUSTOMER HYGIENE - We are working to ensure hand sanitiser is available to customers and will provide information throughout our complex about safe hygiene practices. If you're feeling unwell at all, we encourage you also to stay at home, rest and seek medical advice as required.

As the next coming weeks and months are filled with uncertainty, we ask that if you are unwell, please stay at home and rest, however if you are well, please feel confident in us, @ Cinemas Maryborough, your local cinemas, and come in and support us by seeing a movie or two. Our Candy Bar will be fully stocked with all of the delicious goodies you have come to know and expect.

The health and safety of our customers and staff remains our primary focus and is of paramount importance to us and we will continue to update everyone over the coming period. Thank you for your ongoing support and we look forward to seeing you at the movies again soon. Keep an eye on this our Facebook page or website for changes to sessions, events and more during this time. We're determined to make @ Cinemas Maryborough a safe, secure and happy place for our customers to enjoy watching films, as it always has been, even in these times of crisis.
